WOODSHOP CLASS!

Geoff DeSantis and  Danny Seibert introduced the first graders to the woodshop space, reviewed safety rules, and supervised cutting with saws. The culminating project for this year's woodshop is a special toolbox made by the girls. Future lessons will include: cutting the parts, gluing together, sanding the surfaces, and assembling the toolbox. Girls will learning woodworking techniques:
• Using the miter box to cut wood 
• Sanding wood with sandpaper - finding out about  various grits and sanding techniques: bevel edges
• Assembling wood using clamps, straps and glue
• Fixing mistakes with wood filler and sanding, as needed
