LANGUAGE ARTS: Fluency
Girls have been practicing fluency skills with a reader's theatre, Old Mother Hubbard's Hungry Family. This past week we  focused on two punctuation marks, the period and a comma. Girls are paying attention to each character's lines in the play and applying the appropriate pause at a comma and full stop at the period. During whole class and small group lessons, comprehension skills reinforce:
• Identifying story elements: character(s), setting, problem, and solution
• Analyzing characters: actions, thoughts, feelings,
• Retelling events
