DESIGN/ENGINEERING CHALLENGE
Girls were asked to design new things for a playground. After sketching ideas, they "zoomed in" on a feature of their playground to build. What would it look like? What would you do? Girls eagerly tackled the engineering challenge using a variety of materials and tools: textured paper, foam, pipe cleaners, straws, small plastic cups, cotton puffs, tape, scissors, and hole punchers.
